Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga has clarified that she is contesting for the position of National Vice Chairperson (Female) in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and remains a duly nominated candidate ahead of the upcoming elections. This follows social media reports falsely claiming that she had been disqualified from the race.
She emphasized that she has held the position for a considerable time and believes she is the best candidate to continue serving in that role.
She went on to highlight several achievements she has made over the years, both within the party and in the wider community.
She addressed the ongoing situation and asserted that she had had prior talks with the president regarding the election.
The 2nd National Vice Chairperson (Female) in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) is one of the most powerful positions within the party’s leadership structure, especially when it comes to representing and mobilizing women across the country.
The position sits on the Central Executive Committee (CEC), where it is the highest-ranking female role in the party, giving the holder influence over policy, strategy, and national mobilization. The seat is currently held by the Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga, who is now facing a fierce challenge from Anita Annet Among, the current Speaker of Parliament.
