South Ankole Diocese Clergy and Spouses Conference Concludes Successfully at Kyamate Secondary School

The three-day retreat, held from August 26–28, 2025, at Kyamate Secondary School, brought together clergy and their spouses from South Ankole Diocese for reflection, empowerment, and practical calls to action.

Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe urged clergy and families to tackle poverty within churches and homes. He expressed concern that some priests do not utilize church lands, leaving them idle, and encouraged planting coffee as a tangible step. He emphasized that the gospel should come first, with church projects following as a natural extension of faithful living.

Clergy and spouses were warmly welcomed by the Diocesan Secretary, Rev. Can. Alfred Turyamureba, setting a collaborative and hopeful tone for the retreat.

Rev. Dr. Jasper Tumuhimbise encouraged attendees to reject sin and cling to Jesus to improve their service in the churches.

Rev. Can. K. Kanyankole of Kinkizi Diocese spoke on practical income-generating activities, stressing the need for clergy to work hard and sustain themselves financially.

Rev. Can. Newton Baryaija reminded participants not to tire in doing good, assuring that timely harvests will come for diligent work.

Mama Lilian Ahimbisibwe urged clergy and spouses to consecrate themselves, trusting that God will do amazing things in their futures.

Attendees were engaged in sessions, discussions, and prayerful reflection. Photos from the event are available in the Diocese’s official galleries.
