
Women At Village Level Urged To Elect NRM In Leadership
The National Women's Council has pledged to collaborate with KCCA and the Minister of Kampala to reach out to women at the grassroots level in all divisions of Kampala, encouraging them to support the election of NRM candidates in all leadership positions.
The call was made by the Chairperson of the National Women Council, Hajat Faridah Kibowa, during the International Women’s Day 2025 celebrations in Kampala, organized by the Kampala Capital City Authority in conjunction with the Kampala District Women Council.
The Kampala Capital City Authority, in conjunction with the Kampala District Women's Council, commemorated International Women's Day today in Kampala under the theme ’Accelerating Gender Equality.
While officiating at the event, Chairperson Hajat Faridah Kibowa emphasized that her council will work closely with KCCA and the Minister of Kampala to engage women at the grassroots level across all divisions of Kampala, urging them to support NRM leadership in the upcoming 2026 general elections.
Kibowa stated that women have ample reasons to support the NRM ruling party in the 2026 elections.
She also expressed concern over the low participation of some government officials, particularly presidential representatives, in Kampala activities.
Additionally, Kibowa expressed her readiness to contest for the position of National Chairperson of the Women’s League, aiming to become a member of the Central Executive Committee (CEC) and encouraging more women to join the NRM Party.
