Archbishop Mugalu Rallies Christians For Church Development

The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba-Mugalu has asked Christians to support the retired clergy in their areas.

The Archbishop said that it would be unfortunate for someone to minister to God’s people honorably and retire to an unpleasant life. He made the remarks in his ongoing three-day pastoral visit to the Diocese of Kigezi.

The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba-Mugalu started the second day of his three-day pastoral visit to the Diocese of Kigezi by commissioning Hamurwa Secondary School.

The school was constructed by a businessman, Bernard Zimbeihire, from Rubanda District but he later donated it to Hamurwa Church of Uganda.

The Archbishop then proceeded to launch a petrol station that belongs to the Diocese of Kigezi as an income generation project. The proceeds are meant to facilitate the work of the clergy.

His Grace Dr. Kaziimba-Mugalu hailed Christians in the Diocese of for their efforts to improve the lives of their leaders. He noted that it’s the responsibility of all believers to ensure that the churches in their localities promote development projects.

His Grace Dr. Kaziimba-Mugalu addressed Christians that had gathered to meet him at Hamurwa Church of Uganda.

The Archbishop was escorted by area MP David Bahati, who is also the State Minister for Industry as well as local leaders.

The Hon. Bahati assured residents in Rubanda district that the government is committed to establishing an iron ore factory in the area to boost the production of the resource.

From the Rubanda district visit, the Archbishop moved to Kabale where he commissioned a business complex building and opened All Saints Church, Kabale. His Grace will end his pastoral visit to the Diocese of Kigezi on Saturday 29th April 2023.
