Cargo Bus Catches Fire On Kisoro- Cyanika Road
A Cargo Bus caught fire on Kisoro-Cyanika Road in Chahi Sub County, Kisoro district today around 4: am. The CARGO bus registration UAK206G travelling from Kampala to Goma in DRC this morning caught fire and some merchandize that it carried went up in flames.
The bus was being driven by Sulaiman Gyoraga, 60 years old and a resident of Rusazi in Kampala.
According to SP Boaz Arineitwe the Community Horizons officer in Kisoro district, the CARGO bus was heading to Goma in DRC through Cyanika in Uganda and caught fire at Budaharana cell in Chahi Sub County
Arinaitwe also adds that the cause of the fire was overheating of the brake pads that burnt the tire of the bus.
Boaz says that a few Manchandis were burnt but requested the truck drivers to always do mechanical checkups before travelling long journeys.
