Dei Biopharma To Address Shortage Of Essential Drugs In Uganda

Africa’s largest innovative vaccine and drug facility, Dei Biopharma, has revealed that ongoing production of essential drugs and vaccines is geared towards addressing the shortage of access to essential drugs for all Africans.

This follows DEI’s certification by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA), meaning international standards for the production of vaccines and drugs in the treatment of several diseases.

With the production of innovative drugs and vaccines underway at Dei Biopharma, the shortage of essential drugs in Uganda is yet to get a lasting solution. Following the recent India’s Pharma Ratna Universe awards, the founder and managing director of Dei Biopharma Ltd., Dr. Matthias Magoola, stressed that his successful production of innovative drugs and vaccines, especially novel cancer treatments, meets the urgent need for both local and export markets.

Dr. Magoola has officially appealed to President Museveni for assistance in helping the National Drug Authority (NDA) achieve the World Health Organization (WHO) maturity Level 3 accreditation for his locally manufactured medicine, which is licensed for entry into global markets.

Having expanded his vaccine and pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprise from nothing to over USD 2.5 billion, it is anticipated that this valuation will reach approximately USD 10 billion by the tenth year of production, resulting in the creation of more than 40,000 well-paying jobs. Consequently, the acknowledgment of these achievements by both the USA and India is significant.
