FDC Launches Roadmap for 2025-2026 Elections

Kampala, Uganda— The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Party has officially unveiled its electoral roadmap for the upcoming 2025/2026 general elections. In a significant step towards strengthening its electoral processes, the party's Electoral Commission announced that aspiring candidates can now collect nomination forms to demonstrate their intent to run for various positions.

The collection of forms began today and will continue until May 30, 2025. Presidential candidates are required to acquire their nomination forms between April 30 and May 1, with the nomination phase slated for June 2025.

Boniface Toterebuka Bamwenda, chairperson of the FDC Electoral Commission, stated that all candidates will undergo a thorough vetting process conducted by the party's Electoral Commission. Furthermore, candidates will participate in public debates, ensuring transparency and accountability in the selection process.

In line with the party’s guidelines, the nomination fees have been set at 5 million Ugandan shillings for presidential candidates and 1 million Ugandan shillings for members of parliament. To maintain party integrity, only individuals holding valid FDC party cards will be eligible to contest for leadership positions.

The FDC is committed to fostering a democratic environment as it prepares for the upcoming elections, encouraging active participation among its members to ensure a fair electoral process.
