The education exhibition of innovators from across Technical Vocational Education and Training Institutions was launched by the Minister of State for Education in charge of Sports, Hon. Peter Ogwang, at Kololo Independence Grounds.
This is part of the International Day of Education 2025, scheduled for Tuesday, 29th April 2025, under the theme of promoting an employer-led TVET system that is functional, effective, and efficient to meet the needs and priorities of the labor market.
Upon arrival, the minister first visited some of the stalls by students from the TVET institutions.
In his address, the minister indicated how there is a need to promote technical and vocational training so as to produce a workforce that is skilled, innovative, and ready to challenge the hardships of a dynamic and competitive global economy, indicating the implications of a TVET system that is employer-led.
He described the exhibition as a demonstration that investment in relevant education and training is sowing the prosperity of the country. He hence called upon the employers to be compliant with the system.
Ogwang finally echoed the government’s commitment towards promoting Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the country.
We interacted with different exhibitors who revealed excellent and magnificent knowledge behind their innovations.
Some explained how the TVET system is to help in addressing the problem of unemployment in the country.
