Namirembe Diocese Extends Mothers' Union Leadership Training To Namugongo:Mothers' Union Equips Women To Strengthen Christian Families And Parishes.Women Church Leaders Trained In Servant Lea
The Namirembe Diocesan Mothers' Union, in partnership with Namugongo Archdeaconry, has expanded its leadership training program to equip women church leaders with practical leadership, mentorship, and family-life skills. Church leaders say the initiative is aimed at strengthening Christian families, building vibrant parish ministries, and empowering women to serve their communities through Christ-centered leadership.
Leadership within the Church is more than holding a position of responsibility. It is about serving others with humility, nurturing Christian families and building communities founded on biblical values.
It is this vision that brought together Mothers' Union leaders from different parishes across Namugongo Archdeaconry at St. Peter's Kamuli Church of Uganda, where the Namirembe Diocesan Mothers' Union, in partnership with the archdeaconry, conducted a leadership training program aimed at strengthening women's ministry and servant leadership.
The program seeks to equip women with practical leadership skills, strengthen family ministry, and prepare Mothers' Union leaders to effectively respond to the changing needs of the Church and society.
During the training, participants received practical instruction in servant leadership, teamwork, effective communication, mentorship, conflict resolution, financial stewardship, and strategies for strengthening Christian homes.
Facilitators reminded participants that effective Christian leadership begins with personal spiritual growth, integrity, compassion, and faithful service to both God and the community.
The Chairperson of the Mothers' Union in Namugongo Archdeaconry, Najjuma Christine Sebyala, said empowering women with leadership skills will strengthen parish ministries while enabling Mothers' Union members to mentor younger women and serve as positive role models in their communities.
She added that investing in women leaders is an investment in stronger Christian families, vibrant congregations, and a thriving church.
Participants described the training as timely and impactful, saying it had strengthened their leadership capacity while giving them an opportunity to share experiences, build fellowship, and learn from fellow church leaders.
They expressed confidence that the knowledge acquired will enable them to serve more effectively, promote unity within their parishes, mentor future generations, and strengthen Christian family values.
As the training concluded, participants renewed their commitment to lead with humility, serve faithfully, and support the Church's mission of building strong Christian families and transforming communities through Christ-centered leadership.
