Uganda National Examinations Board released the 2024 PLE results, with over 797,000 pupils who sat for the exams receiving their performance reports. Among the top performers is Narinda Confidence from Kabwohe Mothercare School, who scored an impressive 5 aggregates despite financial struggles.
However, her future remains uncertain as she seeks support to continue her education.
The long-awaited 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results were officially released last Thursday by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB). Over 797,000 pupils across the country sat for these pivotal exams.
Among the shining stars of this year’s results is Narinda Confidence, a remarkable pupil from Kabwohe Mothercare School, a private institution in Kabwohe Town, Sheema Municipality. Confidence excelled with an impressive 5 aggregates, despite a journey filled with challenges.
She reflects on her time at school, revealing how her parents struggled financially, yet always supported her with what they could. Her excellent academic performance caught the attention of the school’s director, Canon Freedom, who extended additional support to her education.
Confidence wasn’t just a top performer in academics—she also excelled in leadership. By the time she completed Primary Seven, she was serving as the Head Girl of Kabwohe Mothercare School.
Despite her stellar achievements, Confidence was taken by surprise when she learned she had scored 5 aggregates—a result she says exceeded her expectations.
However, her joy is shadowed by uncertainty about her future. With limited resources to proceed to secondary school, Confidence appeals to well-wishers to step in and support her dream of furthering her education.
Confidence’s story is a reflection of the struggles faced by many young learners across Uganda. Her message to them is one of hope: never give up, and always put your trust in the Lord.
While the PLE results mark the beginning of new journeys for thousands of pupils, stories like Narinda Confidence’s remind us of the barriers many still face in accessing quality education. Her resilience and determination shine as a beacon of hope, inspiring us all to do more to support the next generation of leaders.
