NRM Roadmap Launches Tomorrow: Aspirants Invited to Nominate for Key Positions

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) is set to kick off its political roadmap for the 2026 general elections with the nomination process beginning tomorrow, April 24, 2025. All aspirants for the positions of LC 1 Chairpersons and village party structure officials are encouraged to express their interests at district levels nationwide.

This initiative was announced during a recent press conference held at the NRM Electoral Commission offices in Kampala, where party leaders outlined the election procedures and requirements for eligibility.

Hon. Juliana Modest Auma, a Commissioner of the NRM Electoral Commission, detailed the necessary steps for aspirants to ensure their participation in the upcoming elections. She emphasized the importance of adhering to the outlined guidelines to foster a transparent and fair selection process.

In addition, Dr. Tanga Odoi, Chairperson of the NRM Electoral Commission, called upon the youth to join the party, highlighting that the NRM system is crucial for nurturing the younger generation and instilling strong principles for leadership.

As part of the election preparations, the NRM plans to hold barazas in 72 villages daily leading up to the polls. Dr. Tanga underscored the need for leaders to engage with their communities, ensuring they participate in village visits and attend the barazas. This will facilitate the confirmation and correction of information on the electoral register prior to the elections.
