Nwoya District Warned Over Poor Service Delivery: Office of The President Calls for Greater Accountability. District Leaders Pledge Improved Public Service Delivery
Nwoya District leaders have been challenged to strengthen accountability and improve service delivery to ensure that government programs effectively reach the people. The call was made by the Deputy Head of the RDC Secretariat and Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Unit in the Office of the President, Sister Mary Grace Akiror, during a meeting with district officials. She warned against negligence and delays in service delivery, urging public servants to put citizens at the center of their work.
Nwoya District Local Government has been cautioned against laxity in service delivery, with leaders urged to strengthen accountability and ensure government services reach citizens efficiently.
Addressing district officials, Sister Mary Grace Akiror, the Deputy Head of the RDC Secretariat and Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Unit in the Office of the President, emphasized the need for public servants to uphold their responsibilities and deliver quality services without delay.
Akiror noted that effective service delivery is critical to improving the livelihoods of citizens and called upon district leaders to remain committed to transparency, accountability, and performance.
The District Chief Administrative Officer, Richard Madete, assured residents that the district administration is working tirelessly to improve service delivery and address challenges affecting communities.
Madete said efforts are ongoing to strengthen service provision across key sectors and ensure that government programs achieve their intended impact.
Meanwhile, Nwoya District LC5 Chairperson Patrick Okello Oryema appealed to public servants to embrace a renewed work ethic and contribute towards transforming service delivery in the district.
He stressed that improving services should be a collective responsibility and called on all government workers to remain dedicated to serving the public.
Officials say the engagement was aimed at reinforcing discipline, improving performance, and ensuring better service delivery outcomes for the people of Nwoya District.
