Uganda To Host Fourth Power and ELEC International Expo 2026: Gov’t Promotes Value Addition and Industrial Growth. Minister Urges Ugandans to Embrace Emerging Energy Technologies.
The government has unveiled plans for the Fourth Power and ELEC International Expo 2026, a three-day exhibition aimed at showcasing emerging energy technologies and investment opportunities to accelerate industrialization, promote value addition, and drive Uganda's economic transformation. The Expo will take place from the 9th to the 11th of July at the UMA Multipurpose Hall in Nakawa, with free admission for the public.
Uganda will host the Fourth Power and ELEC International Expo 2026 under the theme "Scaling Energy 10X: Technology, Sustainability, and Global Impact."
The three-day exhibition will bring together government leaders, policymakers, investors, manufacturers, development partners, and energy experts to showcase innovations and investment opportunities shaping Uganda's energy sector.
The exhibition, which is open to the public free of charge, will be held at the UMA Multipurpose Hall in Nakawa.
The government says the Expo will support the implementation of Vision 2040 and the Fourth National Development Plan by promoting industrialization, innovation, and the country's Ten-Fold Growth Strategy.
The minister said Uganda's next phase of transformation will focus on ensuring that energy supports productive enterprises, value addition, job creation, and improved livelihoods.
He noted that Uganda has made significant progress in expanding electricity generation, transmission, and distribution over the past two decades, adding that the government is now prioritizing the efficient utilization of the country's energy and mineral resources to drive industrial growth.
The minister further encouraged Ugandans to embrace emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, smart grids, battery storage, digital metering, and advanced energy management systems, saying these innovations will improve efficiency and strengthen Uganda's competitiveness in the global energy sector.
He also highlighted ongoing investments in geothermal development and other renewable energy projects aimed at securing the country's future energy needs.
The minister called upon Ugandans, the private sector, academic institutions, and the media to participate in the Fourth Power and ELEC International Expo 2026 and explore the latest technologies and investment opportunities that will drive Uganda's industrial and economic growth.
