Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese and Kampala Fellowship Leaders Visit Dr. Kiiza Besigye at Luzira Prison
Kampala, June 8, 2025 — In a show of solidarity and spiritual support, Rt. Rev. Onesimus Asiimwe, Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, together with leaders from the Kampala Fellowship of North Kigezi Diocese, paid a heartfelt pastoral visit to Dr. Kiiza Besigye at Luzira Upper Prison.
The delegation, which included Lay Canon Alice Turyamureeba, Hon. Winnie Babihuga, Counsel Isaac Atukunda, and Mr. Dick Muhwezi, was motivated by the biblical call in Hebrews 13:3 — “Remember those in prison, as if you were sharing in their suffering.”
Bishop Asiimwe led a meaningful devotion and offered prayers for Dr. Besigye and all inmates, emphasizing compassion, hope, and spiritual resilience. Dr. Besigye expressed deep gratitude for the support and kind gesture from the visiting delegation.
The visit culminated with a lively praise and worship session led by Dr. Besigye, fostering a moment of unity and spiritual upliftment among all present.
This visit reflects the commitment of church leaders to standing with those facing hardship, reminding us all of the power of faith, hope, and community support.
