On Thursday, May 1st, 2025, Bishop Onesimus and Maama Florence warmly hosted Senior Five students from Kinyasano Girls High School (KGHS) at the Bishop’s residence. The visit was a special opportunity for the girls to benefit from insightful leadership guidance and life lessons, especially as many had missed the Bishop’s earlier visit to their school.

During the gathering, Bishop Onesimus emphasized the importance of time and wise decision-making. He urged the students to value time, quoting Ecclesiastes 3:1, and encouraged them to differentiate between urgent and important tasks. He challenged the girls to set ambitious goals, referencing Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s words: “The size of your dreams should always exceed your current capacity to achieve them.”

Maama Florence shared a heartfelt message rooted in the story of Esau and Jacob (Genesis 25:19-34). Using this biblical example, she advised the girls to cultivate patience and wise judgment. “Avoid selling your birthright for short-lived satisfaction,” she cautioned, urging them to endure hardships and make decisions that impact their future positively. She emphasized that decisions taken in moments of inconvenience can shape destiny.

The students expressed deep gratitude towards Bishop Onesimus and Maama Florence for their hospitality and inspiring words. As a token of appreciation, they enjoyed a delicious meal and marveled at the Bishop’s residence, with one student vowing to build a house like his someday.

To foster a reading culture, Bishop Onesimus distributed newspapers to the girls, encouraging them to develop the habit of staying informed and educated. The event was a memorable day filled with motivation, wisdom, and hope for the bright futures of Kinyasano Girls’ students.
