Commemorating International Widows Day: Church of Uganda Launches Ministry to Support Widows
Today, we observe International Widows Day—a special occasion to thank God for His faithfulness and His providence to widows. Archbishop Stephen Kaziimba expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Aggrey Kibenge, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development, for accepting to be the Chief Guest at this meaningful event.
The celebration aims to raise awareness of the challenges faced by widows and widowers across Uganda, deepen understanding of God's heart for widows and orphans, and officially launch the Church of Uganda’s Ministry to Widows.
Archbishop Kaziimba praised women of courage and faith who continue to stand firm in their walk with God, even in the absence of their loved ones. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of compassion, support, and faith in times of loss.
