Kinkizi Diocese Hailed For Men’s Ministry
The Provincial Father's Union President, Samuel Bakutana has commended the Diocese of Kinkiizi for establishing the Men's Ministry Office at the Diocesan Secretariat.
He said he was optimistic that men in this Diocese will be mobilized to become not just more active in the church ministry but also improve the family's well-being.
Mr. Bukutana made the comments during the opening of the three-day Father's Union Seminar at St. Peter's Cathedral Nyakatare in Kanungu District.
The Bishop of Kinkiizi Diocese, the Rt. Rev. Dan Zoreka, who officially opened the men’s conference, emphasized that men should rise and take up their responsibilities in their families as well as their churches. He added that men were created to be heads of their families and must therefore be vigilant. That will bring happiness not only to their wives but also to their children.
During the morning devotion which was led by the Rev. Gad Tibeijuka Ngyemura, the Diocesan Secretary, he expounded on the 2023 annual theme: United for service and growth. He explained that every part of the body is important for a healthy life. He challenged the parish Father Union leaders to apply this example in the ministry they do in their parishes as well as in their families.
The three-day conference has attracted more than 60 Father's Union leaders from the 61 parishes of the Diocese of Kinkiizi accompanied by the 11 Archdeacons and other few invited dignitaries.
