Muslims Leaders Urged To Promote Unity

Muslim leaders in Kabale district have been urged to avoid squabbles and promote unity among Muslim community

The call was made by the State Minister of Finance in charge of General Duties, Henry Musasizi who also emphasized the importance of Muslims working with the believers in other faiths for the sake of national development.

Musasizi is also the Rubanda East MP, made the appeal to the recently elected leaders of Kabale Muslim District Council.  

State Minister of Finance in charge of General Duties, Henry Musasizi was the chief guest at the swearing in ceremony of the recently elected leaders of the Kabale Muslim district council under Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC). Kabale is one of the 11 districts in the Ankole-Kigezi Muslim region

Musasizi told the newly elected Muslim leaders to promote unity and harmony among all the residents of Kabale district irrespective of their faiths. He noted that such unity will enhance the development of Kigezi sub-region.

A number of Kabale district political leaders attended the event.

Kabale District Chairman Nelson Nshangabashaija commended the Muslims in Kabale for a peaceful election and promised that the Kabale District Local Government will support their development projects.

Kabale Municipality MP, Dr. Nicholas Kamara thanked the government for promoting freedom of worship and advised   the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council to focus on promoting social economic projects starting from people’s homes.

Sheikh Abdallah Katamba - the assistant Mufti in charge of Ankole-Kigezi Muslim region advised Muslims to educate their children

Hajji Isaaq Tindyebwa- chairman of Kabale Muslim district called for the need to secure land titles for all Muslim land.

The Chairman of the Ankole-Kigezi Muslim region Electoral Commission Murshid Kaduyu Twesigye said that the Kabale event was the last one for swearing in leaders in all the 11 Muslim districts that form Ankole-Kigezi region. Rukiga and Rubanda districts constitute the Kabale Muslim district.
