Christians Implored To Turn To Jesus Christ Christmas Recognized As A Significant Period

PRIMA

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, the government will be on his shoulders, and he will be called a wonderful counselor," were some of the words that Prophet Isaiah said as he prophesied the birth of Christ.

With the commemoration of Jesus’ birth around the corner, Christians have been implored to dwell in Christ, as he is a source of strength and courage, among other good things, given to us by God.

This and other messages were delivered at the different Anglican church services held today.

Today, the service at All Saints Cathedral Kampala was guided by the theme “He Came to Bind the Broken Hearted” from the book of Isaiah 61:1-3.

The preacher of the day, Rev. Hillary Jaffu, called on Christians to turn to Jesus Christ, for it is by him that they can get the strength to go through life.

St. Stephens Kisugu COU had “Hallelujah, Sing to Jesus” as the theme that guided the service. This theme was drawn from Psalms 103:1–12.

The preacher, Rev. Samuel Kanyike, urged Christians to be receptive to Jesus Christ in their lives.

At St. Francis Chapel Makerere, Rev. Dr. Lydia Nsaale Kitayimbwa passed on a message for believers to embrace and welcome Jesus into their lives.

The message was based on the theme, “The Son of God.”

On the other hand, Rev. Beatrice Kasule delivered the message of the good news to the congregants at Kakumba Chapel, Kyambogo University.

As preacher during the service, Rev. Kasule stressed the importance of being thankful and generous in life.

At some of the churches, the services were also characterized by a melodious session of Christmas carols and Thanksgiving that symbolized the forthcoming festivities.
