The dioceses of the eastern Cluster are leading this year's organizations for the commemoration of the 3rd June Uganda Martyrs' Day.
Here at COU Family TV, we're continuing to bring you profiles for the 10 dioceses that are leading the celebrations, and today we're continuing with part two of the Busoga Diocese.
The diocesan structure of Busoga Diocese is not different from the Anglican Diocesan structure as approved by the Province of the Church of Uganda
The population of the Anglican Christians in the diocese has grown over the years and this is evident through the continuous baptism that the clergy in the diocese conduct often and the confirmation services held on several Bishop’s Pastoral visits.
Busoga Diocese has schools that were traditionally established by the Church Missionary Society and built on the Anglican faith which up to now are still thriving excellently both academically and morally
Being located in the centre of the tourist city of Jinja, Busoga Diocese has a number of historical sites some of which are the foundation on which the church is built
The very first Martyr having been murdered from Kyondo, now an archdeaconry, Bishop Hannington site has been developed to the level of an international tourist centre with very many features that are worth seeing
In November 2023, Busoga Diocese having given birth to central Busoga Diocese will birth a new diocese whose proposed name is East Busoga Diocese with the diocese Headquarters in Bugiri district
As a diocese and being part of the eastern Cluster we are the lead organizers of the Uganda Martyrs’ Day celebrations 2023, The Bishop calls upon all Christians to come in big numbers to witness what the East can do.
The leaders in different capacities have invited Christians from all over the world to come and celebrate this day because of its importance, especially to the Anglican faith.
This year’s Uganda Martyrs’ day Celebrations at the Anglican site have been organized by the 10 Anglican Dioceses that form the Eastern cluster and these are; Busoga Diocese, Central Busoga Diocese, Bukedi Diocese, Mbale Diocese, North Mballe Diocese, Kumi Diocese, Soroti Diocese, Sebei Diocese, Karamoja Diocese And North Karamoja Diocese.
