Women Empowerment Key To National Development

Julius Muhumuza

Women have been allowed to access an online study platform aimed at enhancing their educational skills, improving job prospects, boosting their businesses, and developing other key competencies.

This initiative was launched today by Brighter Monday Uganda, an organization dedicated to empowering women in Kampala.

As women continue to face numerous challenges, particularly in securing employment and finding markets for their businesses, Brighter Monday Uganda, an organization committed to empowering women, has today launched an online learning platform. This platform aims to help women enhance their educational, business, and market-related skills.

Xenia Wachira, Country Manager of Brighter Monday Uganda, explains the rationale behind the initiative. She highlights that the platform was developed to equip women with essential skills in job seeking, entrepreneurship, and other areas of knowledge, ultimately helping them overcome barriers and thrive in both the job market and the business world.

The program targets women between 18- 33 years who are a graduate and Job seeker, as well as a woman who owns a small business.

General Manager American Chamber of Commerce Eve Zalwango says that many women have been trained; however, there is a need for them to be funded to boost their careers, skills and businesses.

Dr Shamim Matovu Career Readiness Consultant commended the initiative of Brighter Monday Uganda initiative because it will address many challenges women face in Uganda, such as inequality. After all, they will get more skills and this will contribute to the National Development of the Country.
